Transport of Hot Sinter Material
In the sinter plant at the “Stahlwerke Bremen” the hot sinter is transported by an AUMUND Steel Plate Conveyor (Type KZB-S). The material coming from the sinter machine is transported at a temperature of 800 to 900°C and a grain size of up to 200 mm to the ring cooler. The special plates (width: 2400 mm) are equipped with additional wear protection. Basically, the cooling of the material is also possible on the conveyor.
In the Voest Alpine steel works in Linz (Austria) an AUMUND Steel Plate Conveyor (KZB-S) transports up to 700 mt/h of Sinter at a temperature of 700° C over a distance of 20 m. The same conveyor type is going to be used in Magnitogorsk (Russia), where 750 mt/h of sinter material are transported over a length of approx. 75 m and again 104 m.
